So you're about to plant some starters in an indoor planting box...wait! Before you do that, watch this quick video with invaluable tips on prepping the box. These tricks will help your planting box last longer and keep your plants healthier.

Ron is giving us a few tips on using planter boxes. If you are using a wooden planter box, here are a few tips to make sure that your plants grow better and your planters last longer. First, apply roofing cement to the inside of your planter with a putty knife. This will protect it from water damage and keep it from rotting. Another tip is to apply a strip of landscape fabric on the bottom of the box to keep your soil from falling out of the holes in the bottom. Finally, do not forget to use a good quality potting soil to make sure that your plants grow and look better.
