Don tells you how to make sure your fireplace is properly ventilated.

Don is telling us the importance of fireplace ventilation. More and more people are having problems with smoke backing up into your home. When you sealed up your home to be energy efficient, you may have caused this problem. If you are running an exhaust fan in the kitchen or bathroom, it may be trying to get out, blocking the smoke from a place to go. To fix this try and open a window. If it's too cold, try an air to air exchanger. This makes it possible for the smoke to leave your chimney. Lastly, don't forget to have your chimney inspected once a year.
