AsktheBuilder.com host Tim Carter demonstrates how to install a kitchen faucet. Putting in your own kitchen faucet isn't as hard as you think. This video walks you through hooking up the waterlines and a veggie sprayer.

Tim is teaching us that installing a kitchen sink is not that hard. The first step you always have to follow is to read the manufacturer's instructions. The next step is to seal the faucet to the counter top. You do not want water to get under there. Some faucets have a rubber ring inside that seals it. If not, you can use plumber's putty. Fasten the faucet under the sink with large faucet nuts. You can do this with a tool called a basin wrench. A basin wrench allows you to get into the hard to reach spots to tighten the nuts more. You now have to connect the water line. You can use flexable supply line. They come in a variety of sizes. The larger is for the supply. It attaches to the faucet side. The smaller side goes on the water line. Before you connect the two, make sure you flush out the water line. You don't want all of the debris in those lines in your sink. If you have a faucet with a vegetable sprayer, make sure you attach it before turning on the water. If you don't, it will flood under your sink. When you turn on your sink, have a bucket under the faucet because it is easier to install a faucet if the drain pipes are not in the way. Follow these simple steps and you can install a new faucet.
